A $1.2 trillion Senate resolution needed to keep the U.S. government running includes more than 6,700 earmarks worth about $8.1 billion, according to public-interest group Taxpayers for Common Sense. Nearly $1 billion in earmarks are sought by senators who voted to ban the practice. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., asked for almost $86.1 million for his state. Full story here
