Decline in first-time U.S. jobless claims continues into third week

Initial unemployment claims fell for the third consecutive week, the U.S. Labor Department said. First-time claims numbered 420,000 in the week ending Dec. 18, down from 423,000 the week before. The number needs to drop to less than 400,000 to affect the unemployment rate, economists said. Full story here
