Foreclosures down 21% in November; biggest decline in 5 years

Foreclosure filings in the U.S. fell 21% from October to November, the biggest monthly drop in at least five years, the research firm RealtyTrac said. The decline was caused by a combination of the traditional slowdown of foreclosure activity around Thanksgiving and delays imposed by lenders after revelations of widespread misconduct in the preparation of foreclosure documents, experts said.
