Merged Russian firms would provide 17% of the world's potash

A merger of Russian potash companies Uralkali and Silvinit would create a global giant with the ability to challenge Canada's Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, the industry's dominant player, analysts said. If the Russian firms combine, they will supply 17% of the world's potash, compared with Potash's 30%, said industry consultant Fertecon. Full story here
