Most stock markets gain across Asia-Pacific

Shares gained Monday on most Asian-Pacific markets, but concern about a power shortage dragged down Japanese stocks. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 and China's Shanghai Composite added 0.3%. Japan's Nikkei 225 dropped 0.7%, while South Korea's Kospi Composite slid 0.4%. New Zealand's NZX 50 gained 0.4%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.8% and Taiwan's Taiex advanced 0.7%. In afternoon trading, Singapore's Straits Times Index went up 1.3%, Indonesian shares slipped 0.2%, Thailand's SET surged 1.9% and India's Sensex was flat. Full story here
