U.S. President Barack Obama's deficit-reduction commission has delayed action on an austerity plan because it couldn't come up with enough votes to adopt the proposal. Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles, co-chairmen of the commission, said they will postpone action until Friday to build support for the plan.
