White House will offer 3 options for housing-finance reform


Congress is expected to get three proposals from the Obama administration for phasing out or eliminating the U.S. government's role in home-mortgage financing. The proposals would significantly reduce the participation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in supporting the home-mortgage market. Some of the measures backed by the White House aim to attract private capital into the housing-finance market and wouldn't require legislation, Los Angeles Times reported. Full story here
