Japanese risk aversion leaves Asian-Pacific markets mixed

Asian-Pacific were mixed Friday, with investors uninspired by a gain on Wall Street. Japan's Nikkei 225 slipped 0.1%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 declined 0.4% and South Korea's Kospi Composite rose 0.4%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index edged up 0.1%, Taiwan's Taiex fell 0.5% and China's Shanghai Composite was unchanged. New Zealand's NZX 50 added 0.2%, while Philippines shares lost 0.3% In afternoon trading, Malaysia's KLCI and Indonesian shares gained 0.1%, Singapore's Straits Times Index and Thailand's SET slid 0.4%, and India's Sensex advanced 0.9%.
