Timothy Geithner will press China to raise interest rates

As part of a drive for a stronger yuan, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will press China to increase interest rates, said David Loevinger, the Treasury Department's senior coordinator for China. Geithner will also push for easier access to China by foreign insurers and banks, Loevinger said. Geithner is meeting with Chinese officials Monday and Tuesday in Washington, D.C. Full story here
