U.S. consumer bureau will test mortgage forms in plain English

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will test streamlined mortgage-disclosure forms that will tell borrowers, for the first time in plain language, what a mortgage will cost. Two versions of the forms will be tested in focus groups of real estate professionals, consumers and lenders, the bureau said.
