Congress approves an interim spending bill

Congress passed a $250 billion stopgap spending measure to let the U.S. government keep operating until March 4. With a few exceptions, the bill would hold funding for programs at their current level. The measure also would add $460 million to increase veterans' benefits and help low-income families cope with increasing heating costs. Full story here
